“At the start
he was there, he was there
In the end,
he’ll be there, he’ll be there

And After all our hands have wrought
He forgives.”

I spent all day in my Pj’s (granted they were sweat pants and a sweat shirt, but still)

I slept in.

Had time with God.

Watched a movie

Learned the basics of driving stick.

Laid around and chatted on the computer.

It was a very lazy day and I loved and needed it!

Today I finally did my laundry…

When I went down to do my laundry, I also put away my  suitcase.

In the room that we put all of our suitcases, there is a lot of other junk in it. Some of that junk should have been thrown away a long time ago.

A couple  of those things is dog food and a dog bed from our beagle that died in September. Ever since I have been home i’ve been trying to put him out of my mind. Normally I would be hearing his paws pitter-patter down the hallway. Or he would be barking when someone came to the door…

Today I have been reminded of him several times…

I went downstairs to find a box and had to go into his old pen to get one.

I miss him…

He was a wonderful dog. This is for you Joshy!

Let Freedom Ring

When I woke up this morning, one question popped into my head.

‘What does it mean to be free?’

Using my awesome new Bible (courtesy of Mandie Sodoma) I looked up the word freedom in the concordance.
The first scripture was Psalms 119:45 which simply says that David was free in the God because he was devoted to God’s commands.
I kept on reading
David goes on to say that he is unashamed to tell kings about God’s commands.
Suddenly it all clicked. For me freedom means being unashamed.
We are free in Christ so therefore should never be ashamed.

Sin brings shame.
Christ brings freedom.

Like an Mac commercial come true

A couple of days ago I went to a very big mall by my house for the first time since I have been home.

There were a lot of new things to get used to (like getting your teeth whitened in a kiosk at the mall?!)

After shopping for a while with my friend, we saw a Sony store and decided to pop in.

Now both my friend and I have mac’s.

We sat down at one of the computers and were playing around, when a sales man came up to us and asked if we were considering buying a PC. We both politely said no, that we were just stopping in. He didn’t take the hint.

He proceeded to show us about this cool thing called ‘Skype.’ I told yes, it saved my life in South Africa (when it was working.)

Then he asked us what kind of computer we both have, we said that we have Mac’s.

This is where the games began.

He went off for another fifteen minutes about how everyone thinks that Mac’s are better, but PC’s have this and that and the other. Thanks to Marc I was able to say that I have everything that he said that Mac’s do not have.

He sadly had to go on break, after bombarding us with questions and stories about his computer hacking days and how easy it is to hack into a Mac.

We then sneaked out of the store quickly!

I wish that Marc could meet this sales man. It would be like a Mac commercial come to real life!

Marc I have his business card if you want it.

Today I got to drive…

I first got to ‘chauffeur’ my Mom around all day, and then got the okay that I could drive alone again! (freedom!)

Tonight I went out with my very good friend to a Christmas concert.

The concert was wonderful, and after stopping by Starbucks it had gotten pretty late. So on my way home I had my music blaring just in case I started to get tiered.

It was a fun way home, full of singing Christmas songs way off key and I accidental drag raced for the first time…and won.

Then just a few minutes later was passed by a semi-truck.

Also on this lovely ride  home I thought that a deer was going to hit me…

I love driving!

The word ‘friend’ is not enough….

When I was in 6th grade, I remember going (crying) to my Mom, because I felt like I had ‘no’ friends. I distinctly remember my Mom and I praying together and she prayed that God would bring to me amazing friends that would grow me closer to God.

That prayer has come true ten fold.

I have THE most amazing friends. I do not deserve them at all.

When I arrived in the airport, I was greeted by my two best friends with ‘Welcome Home’ signs.

When I reached my room, I was greeted with streamers all over my room.

When I went to my bed I discovered a box from a friend who I have never treasured more (that’s you Mandie!) With letters, pictures, a new beautiful Bible and a very exciting book on prayer!

I was very scared that the first week the inters wouldn’t talk much or just be too busy. This has not been the case! We have been  updating and encouraging each other daily!

My roommates have been extremely wonderful at keeping up-to-date with each others lives. It is truly beautiful.

God thank you so very much for my friends. You have blessed me so much more than I ever could have imagined in 6th grade…or ever!

I love you all!
